About Emily

Emily is a 49–year-old woman who was referred for PH evaluation after presenting with progressively worsening cough. She indicates she has mucous with cough.

• She has an extensive history of smoking (i.e., almost all her life), but recently quit.
• She reports wheezing and SOB that is worse at night and with activity. Patient is not on any oxygen. States she has been having difficulty catching her breath.
• Patient reports minimal nasal congestion and runny nose and has not had known contact with COVID. She denies any chest pains, palpitations or edema.

Emily lives in a two-story home with her spouse approximately 100 miles from the PH center. The husband is supportive and engaged, and the couple have adult children.
